Ashton Jeanty, the Boise State running back, was unstoppable, carrying the ball 20 times for 169 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos’ narrow 17-13 win over Wyoming. He reached the 2,000-yard rushing mark for the season, with 2,062 yards and 27 rushing touchdowns.
Cam Ward, the Miami quarterback, broke single-season passing yards and completions records previously held by Bernie Kosar, completing 27 of 38 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns in the Hurricanes’ dominant 42-14 win over Wake Forest. Ward has completed 262 passes for 3,774 yards and 34 touchdowns this season.
Dillon Gabriel, the Oregon quarterback, had a less impressive game, but his team was still able to secure a 16-13 win over Wisconsin, keeping their undefeated season alive. Gabriel completed 22 of 31 passes for 218 yards, but did throw an interception.
The Heisman Trophy odds have been adjusted based on these performances, with Hunter and Jeanty leading the pack.
