[President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday announced that actors Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone would be “Special Ambassadors” to Hollywood, California. Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social that they would serve as Special Envoys to him for the purpose of bringing Hollywood back to its former glory. Voight has been a longtime Trump supporter and was awarded the National Medal of Arts by Trump in 2019. Gibson has also been a vocal supporter of Trump, despite facing controversy over his comments on Vice President Kamala Harris’ intelligence and his spreading of conspiracy theories about the California wildfires. Stallone endorsed Trump late in the 2024 campaign and introduced him at the America First Policy Institute Gala, calling him “the second George Washington” and “a really mythical character.” Trump wrote that the three actors would be his “eyes and ears” and that he would get done what they suggest, promising that it would be “The Golden Age of Hollywood!”
