Drake Maye Ending His Rookie Season with a Ring: New England Patriots Quarterback Engaged to Fiancée Ann Hudson
Love doing life with you. Can’t wait to marry you,” New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye wrote in his Instagram post announcing his engagement to Ann Hudson. The 22-year-old quarterback ended his rookie season with a ring on his finger and a lot to celebrate.
Maye, who was selected by the Patriots with the third overall pick, had a successful season, finishing with 2,276 passing yards on a 66.6 completion percentage, 15 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and 421 yards on the ground, along with two rushing touchdowns.
The couple, who met while attending the University of North Carolina, celebrated their nine-year dating anniversary in October. They were spotted on a beach, alone, with an umbrella, roses, and a blanket to mark the special occasion.
The engagement news comes after the Patriots fired first-year head coach Jerod Mayo, a move that has been heavily criticized by ex-Patriots. The team has since hired Mike Vrabel as the new head coach. Maye’s engagement is a nice break from the recent drama in Pats land.
Patriots fans are hoping that Vrabel can help Maye get his second ring – the next one being for a Super Bowl.
