Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens’ regular season came to an end on a low note Saturday night, as he failed to record a single yard on his six targets in the team’s 19-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The disappointing performance was met with jeers from fans at Acrisure Stadium, prompting one of his teammates to intervene and refocus him on the game.

Despite the lackluster effort, quarterback Russell Wilson offered support for Pickens. “I believe in George,” Wilson said. “Listen, everything’s not always perfect for everyone. This is an imperfect game and everything else. I believe in George, I believe in who he is, the player that he is.”

Coach Mike Tomlin had previously criticized Pickens, stating that he needed to “grow up in a hurry.” With the team heading into the playoffs, there will be increased scrutiny on Pickens’ performance. Despite this, Wilson remains confident in his abilities, saying, “He’s been a star for us all season, and he’s going to be a difference-maker obviously for us in the playoffs. I’m looking forward to that and what he can do, what we can do together. And I’m not blinking on George. If anybody believes in him, I definitely do.”
