A Tesla Cybertruck burst into flames outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, causing a fatal explosion and injuring several people, officials said. The incident is being investigated as a possible terrorist attack. The explosion occurred around 8:40 a.m. local time, when a 2024 Cybertruck drove up to the entrance of the hotel and suddenly erupted in flames.
The victim in the Cybertruck has not yet been identified, but officials said it is unclear whether the dead person is a man or woman. Seven people were injured, with two taken to a hospital in Las Vegas, and all seven injuries are considered minor. The fire is now out, and authorities are working to recover the body of the dead person.
The incident occurred just a day after a similar attack in New Orleans, where a man deliberately drove a pickup truck into a crowd during New Year’s celebrations, killing 10 people and injuring more than 30 others. The motive behind the Las Vegas attack has yet to be established.
