Sheriff Rick Wells Provides Update on Deadly Home Invasion Shooting
(Bradenton, FL) – Manatee County Sheriff Rick Wells hosted a press conference today to provide an update on the deadly home invasion shooting that occurred on January 24, 2023, at 11503 105th Street Northwest, Bradenton.
At approximately 10:20 pm, deputies responded to a 911 call from a resident who reported a suspicious person inside the residence. When deputies arrived, they found two victims, an adult male and an adult female, deceased on the scene. One of the victims was shot and the other was bludgeoned to death using a blunt object.
Preliminary information indicates that the victims were targeted by an unknown suspect or suspects who may have been looking for valuable property.
Sheriff Wells announced that the case is being investigated by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office’s Violent Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Bradenton Police Department and the FBI. Investigators are working to identify and apprehend the suspect or suspects responsible for these heinous crimes.
“We are committed to ensuring the victims’ families receive the justice they deserve. Our investigators are working tirelessly to follow up on leads, interview witnesses, and analyze evidence to bring the person or people responsible for this senseless act of violence to justice,” Sheriff Wells emphasized.
