U.S. President-elect Donald Trump Names “Apprentice” Producer Mark Burnett as UK Envoy
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has selected Mark Burnett, the producer of his reality television show “The Apprentice,” to be his administration’s special envoy to the United Kingdom. Burnett, a 64-year-old British native, created “The Apprentice,” which made Trump internationally famous for firing a succession of contestants vying for roles in his businesses. He also created or produced other shows such as “Survivor,” “Shark Tank,” and was the chairman of MGM Worldwide Television Group.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said Burnett will “work to enhance diplomatic relations” between the two countries and will focus on “trade, investment opportunities and cultural exchanges.”
