Kendrick Lamar’s Compton Mural Vandalized Again
For the second time this year, a mural of Kendrick Lamar in Compton, California has been vandalized. The latest incident occurred on a weekend, with witnesses reporting that multiple young people were seen spraying graffiti and defacing the mural.
The mural, which is located at the intersection of Central Avenue and 111th Street, was created in 2013 in celebration of Lamar’s hometown and his rising popularity. The mural features a large image of the rapper with a pair of sunglasses and a basketball, as well as lyrics from his song “Sing for Me.”
This is not the first time the mural has been vandalized. In March, it was tagged with graffiti and damaged by unknown individuals. At the time, local authorities vowed to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice.
It is unclear if the same group or individuals are responsible for the latest damage. However, many in the community are once again speaking out against the senseless vandalism and calling for an end to such behavior.
Lamar himself has not publicly commented on the latest incident, but his fans and supporters have taken to social media to express their outrage and disappointment. The incident has also sparked concerns about the impact it may have on the local community and the economy.
