One-time NFL MVP Cam Newton Admits to Visiting Strip Clubs, but with a Different Motivation
In a recent interview on the “Funky Friday” podcast, Cam Newton, the former Carolina Panthers quarterback, revealed that he had visited strip clubs on occasion, but not for the typical reason. Newton, a self-proclaimed competitor, explained that he went to the clubs to challenge his fellow patrons, not the female dancers.
“I never went to a strip club for women,” Newton said. “I always went to strip clubs for guys. I’m a competitor. I wasn’t gonna spend no money if I didn’t see nobody else spending no money. As soon as I see somebody thinking that they’ve got money… ‘OK, you spending five? I’mma spend six. If you gonna spend 10, I’mma spend 15.’ We’re gonna have a rain off.”
Newton emphasized that he was not interested in the female performers, but rather the competition with other men. He bragged about his ability to outspend others, saying, “I ain’t nothing” if someone can outdo him.
Newton played 11 seasons in the NFL, winning the MVP award in 2015 while leading the Panthers to a 15-1 record and a Super Bowl appearance. He has not played in the league since the 2021 season.
