Luigi Mangione, a 39-year-old man from Wisconsin, has been charged with three counts of murder. The charges stem from a triple homicide that occurred at a residence in Milwaukee last month.
According to officials, Mangione allegedly broke into the home on December 16 and killed the three occupants, including two women and a man. The victims were identified as 33-year-old Christina Garcia, 30-year-old Ashley Rodriguez, and 32-year-old Kevin Pascual.
Prosecutors say that Mangione used a knife to inflict the fatal wounds on the victims. He was apprehended by police at the scene and has been in custody since the incident.
Mangione’s motivation for the killings is unclear, but investigators say they are looking into possible gang connections. The defendant’s criminal history includes a number of prior convictions for crimes such as burglary and robbery.
If convicted, Mangione faces life in prison. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 4.
