Representative Victoria Spartz, a Republican from Indiana, announced that she will be reducing her involvement in the traditional day-to-day activities of the House GOP Conference and instead focus on aiding the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Spartz, who has bucked House GOP leadership on several occasions, stated that she will reject any committee assignments and refuse to attend the weekly conference meetings.
Instead, Spartz plans to dedicate more time to helping DOGE, a nonbinding advisory panel commissioned by President-elect Donald Trump to recommend areas for cutting spending and improving the efficiency of the federal government. Spartz did not elaborate on how she would focus her efforts on DOGE.
This move comes after Spartz has clashed with House GOP leadership on issues such as government spending and the national debt. Her decision to forgo traditional committee assignments and conference meetings has sparked interest among her colleagues and has raised questions about her future involvement with the Congressional DOGE Caucus.
Spartz’s comments come ahead of the first meeting of the DOGE Caucus, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday. Fox News Digital reached out to Spartz to ask whether she would consider joining the caucus, but she did not provide a response.
