Southwest, Delta, and other major airlines have added flights to New Orleans in anticipation of Super Bowl LIX, as airfare and hotel prices in the game’s host city continue to rise. Southwest has scheduled 31 new flights from Kansas City and Philadelphia to New Orleans, while Delta has added flights to accommodate over 1,300 passengers, with first-class tickets exceeding $4,000. The cost of Southwest’s flights vary, with nonstop flights from Kansas City and Philadelphia ranging in price from $798 to $848.
Hotel prices are also on the rise, with a two-night stay during Super Bowl weekend costing anywhere from $550 to $4,700 or more. The supply of hotel rooms is limited, with over two dozen hotels booked from February 8 to 10. However, prices are expected to decrease and availability to return to normal by the end of February.
