Federal Agents Arrest Suspected Tren de Aragua Gang Member in Colorado

Ad

Federal agents arrested a suspected member of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua in Aurora, Colorado, on Saturday morning. The suspect, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, was charged with property damage and domestic violence. The arrest was carried out by ICE Denver and the Denver office for Homeland Security Investigations.

The suspect will remain in ICE custody pending a hearing before an immigration judge.

The arrest comes as the Trump administration is in talks with El Salvador to revive an agreement that would allow the United States to send non-Salvadoran migrants to the Central American country. The agreement would also aim to send members of the Tren de Aragua gang to Salvadoran prisons.

In related news, six Americans who had been detained in Venezuela in recent months were freed by the government of President Nicolás Maduro after he met with a Trump administration official. President Donald Trump’s envoy for special missions, Richard Grenell, announced the release of the six men on social media.

ICE has been conducting operations across the United States prioritizing criminal illegal immigrants as part of Trump’s campaign pledge. On Friday, ICE Denver announced that its officers arrested an illegal immigrant from Mexico charged with assault and kidnapping.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has been cracking down on illegal immigration, revoking Biden’s extension of Venezuelan Temporary Protected Status and ceasing funding to NGOs that facilitate illegal immigration.
