President-elect Donald Trump made numerous false claims during a news conference at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida on Monday. Some of the false claims made by Trump include:
* California is still counting its votes, when in fact the state certified its election results on Friday.
* Europe does not use pesticides, when in fact they are widely used in Europe, although some pesticides used in the US are banned in the European Union.
* There were no wars during his presidency, when in fact there were dozens of unresolved wars and armed conflicts around the world during his time in office.
* He signed the biggest tax cuts in history, when expert analyses have found that his 2017 tax cut law was not the largest in US history.
* The US generated hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs from China during his presidency, when in fact the US has had tariffs on Chinese imports since the 1700s.
* The US had very high tariffs in the 1890s, which was when the country was at its richest, when in fact the US is far richer today than it was in the 1890s.
* The country has experienced its highest inflation rate of all time under President Joe Biden, when in fact the inflation rate was nowhere close to the all-time record of 23.7% set in 1920.
* He had no inflation during his presidency, when in fact prices rose about 8% from the beginning of his presidency to the end.
* Foreign leaders are releasing prisoners from jails around the world to let criminals come to the US as migrants, when in fact there is no evidence for these claims.
* He built 571 miles of a wall on the southern border, when in fact official government data shows 458 miles were built under Trump.
* He built more of a wall than he initially promised, when in fact he regularly said the US needed 1,000 miles of wall during his presidential campaign.
