Deebo Samuel’s Frustration Boils Over in 49ers’ Loss to Rams
Deebo Samuel was vocal about his frustration with his lack of usage in the days leading up to the San Francisco 49ers’ Thursday night showdown with the Los Angeles Rams. However, he had a prime opportunity to make a big play and came up short.
Midway through the third quarter, Samuel was open on a slant route, beating his defender off the line of scrimmage. The pass from Brock Purdy was perfect, but Samuel dropped the ball. The botched play led to a field goal, and the 49ers went on to lose 12-6, essentially eliminating them from postseason play.
Samuel was visibly frustrated after the game, acknowledging that he should have made the catch. “Real, very frustrating,” he said. “At the end of the day, catch that ball, there’s nothing there but end zone. I got to catch that rock.” He also expressed his disappointment in a post-game interview, stating, “Just like seeing the moment, came across the middle and saw nothing but the end zone. At the end of the day, got to load the ball and go score.”
