A Soiree for the MAGA Crowd: Mel Gibson, Russell Brand, and Kid Rock Attend QAnon-Adjacent Event
A cavalcade of supporting characters in the MAGA universe, including President-elect Donald Trump, gathered at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday for a soirée hosted by the conservative nonprofit America’s Future. The event was attended by a slew of celebrities and conspiracy theorists, including Mel Gibson, Russell Brand, Kid Rock, Tucker Carlson, and Roger Stone.
Gibson, a traditionalist Catholic actor and director, spoke to the crowd, saying, “I got nine kids. If one of them got stolen or trafficked, I’d have to kill someone.” This sentiment aligns with the themes promoted by America’s Future, which has shifted its focus to promoting QAnon-adjacent conspiracy theories about a clandestine cabal of pedophiles controlling media and government.
The event was chaired by retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who has remade America’s Future in his own image. Flynn has been a vocal proponent of these conspiracy theories, and his sister, Mary O’Neill, has stated that the group believes in “organ harvesting” and the use of blood to maintain youthfulness.
Other attendees included British comedian Russell Brand, who has become a prominent conspiracy theorist, and Kid Rock, who was awarded the “Champion for Freedom” award by Flynn. Fox News outcast Tucker Carlson and former Trump adviser Roger Stone were also in attendance.
Trump was listed as an “invited honored guest” and was seen alongside Flynn, Carlson, and Kid Rock before briefly addressing the crowd. The event was marked by a sense of camaraderie among the attendees, with Kid Rock delivering an impassioned speech and Gibson praising Flynn for exposing “wolves in sheep’s clothing that prey upon our young.”
