The 2024 college football season has come to a close, with Ohio State winning the Playoff in its inaugural year of the 12-team format. As the dust settles, fans are already looking ahead to the 2025 season, which is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are the odds for several marquee matchups scheduled for Week 1 of the 2025 season, courtesy of FanDuel as of January 22.

Texas takes on Ohio State in the first matchup of the week, with the Buckeyes favored to win by more than 4.5 points. Ohio State quarterback Jeremiah Smith is back after a strong freshman season, while Texas is introducing new starting quarterback Arch Manning. The total scoring line is set at 51.5 points, with both teams likely to feature new starting quarterbacks.

The second matchup pits Notre Dame against Miami (FL), with the Fighting Irish favored to win by more than 2.5 points. Notre Dame returns a strong roster, while Miami is replacing quarterback Cam Ward with former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck. The total scoring line is set at 53.5 points.

In the third matchup, LSU takes on Clemson, with the Tigers favored to win by more than 2.5 points. Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik returns to lead the team, which finished the 2024 season ranked 14th in the nation. LSU, which did not finish in the top 25, is looking to bounce back after a disappointing conclusion to the season.

The final matchup of the week sees Alabama take on Florida State, with the Crimson Tide favored to win by more than 8.5 points. Alabama, which barely missed the College Football Playoff, will be looking to make a strong statement in the 2025 season. Florida State, which finished 2-11 in 2024, will need to find a new quarterback to lead the team. The total scoring line is set at 51.5 points.
