Ex-teammate believes Aaron Rodgers can still succeed in the NFL despite uncertain future.

Aaron Rodgers’ Future in Limbo, But Second Half of 2024 Season May Keep Him Around

Aaron Rodgers’ future with the New York Jets is uncertain, but his performance in the second half of the season may have just kept him around. Despite the Jets’ disappointing 5-12 season, Rodgers showed glimpses of his former self in his final 10 games.

Rodgers, who missed the entire 2023 season after rupturing his Achilles, threw for 2,234 yards, 18 touchdowns, and four interceptions, and had six games with a passer rating over 100. His former Green Bay Packers teammate, Clay Matthews, believes that Rodgers can still create magic with new players around him.

Matthews, who won Super Bowl XLV with Rodgers, tuned in to more Jets games than ever before this season to see what Rodgers was capable of. He thinks that with some protection and playcalling, Rodgers can still get it done.

New head coach Aaron Glenn has already stated that Rodgers will be discussed with new general manager Darren Mougey. The Jets have the seventh pick in the upcoming draft, but it’s not considered a prime time for quarterbacks.

Rodgers’ performance in the second half of the season may have kept him around for the 2024 season.
