Bills GM attributes season-ending loss to WRs’ lack of production.

Buffalo Bills General Manager Brandon Beane spoke candidly about the team’s receiving corps, particularly the performance of wide receiver Jacoby Meyers and the acquired Amari Cooper. Beane noted that Meyers’ production slowed down after a wrist injury sustained in Week 9, and that he didn’t see the same level of physicality and usage of his size down the stretch.

The team lacked a clear number one option in the receiving corps, which was evident in their inability to convert a fourth-and-5 on the final play of the season against the Kansas City Chiefs. Beane expressed disappointment in Meyers’ performance, but also acknowledged that injuries, including a wrist injury and a back issue, had an impact on the team’s receiving corps.

Beane also spoke about Amari Cooper, who started strong but eventually became a footnote in the team’s offense. He praised Cooper’s ability to learn the team’s offense, but noted that his production was impacted by injuries. Beane emphasized the importance of giving Meyers time to develop, comparing him to other first-round draft picks who may not have immediate success.

Looking forward, Beane is optimistic about Meyers’ prospects, believing that he will work hard this offseason to improve and develop a rapport with quarterback Josh Allen. Beane believes that Meyers will have a strong season ahead and that it may be the key to finally surpassing the Kansas City Chiefs.
